Tree Planting Initiative – Greening South Sakwa

On April 1, 2025, Enhanced Bagasse Limited, in collaboration with the Community Liaison Committee (CLC) and 12 primary schools across South Sakwa, rolled out a large-scale tree planting initiative to advance environmental sustainability and community empowerment.

Each participating school received 300 tree seedlings, with students, teachers, company staff, and CLC representatives joining hands to plant and nurture them. This program extended across four key sublocations — Alego East, Alego Central, Alego West, and Waundha — engaging schools like Malunga, Marienga, Ulanda, Saka, and others.

The goal: instill a culture of environmental stewardship in the next generation while restoring local biodiversity, combating soil erosion, and reinforcing climate action at the grassroots level.

To deepen the impact, an additional 200 seedlings were distributed to the area chief and landlords near the company site — a strategic move to inspire broader participation and solidify community ties.
